Peggy got a kit for growing "paperwhites", probably a lily of some kind. Pushing the bulbs into the soaked medium, they were kept in the dark until green showed. Now sprouting nicely and showing green, they will go on the shelf, allowed some Sunshine, and we'll see what happens.
Can't photo brrrr.... but this morning would have been a good shot. Minus 16 earlier, crisp and clear. Warming to low teens is predicted this afternoon, hopefully we'll get a few more inches of snow this week so we can take the snowmobile more easily to the trails.
Busy week, coming and going with work and visiting family so it's nice to have the weekend, kick back, do a little shopping and "just be". I did bake some old fashioned oatmeal cookies with raisins and butterscotch chips and they turned out great.... we decided next time to try them with peanut butter chips....
The base layer of thick ice that fell last Friday night is still slick, under what flurries have fallen, and driving is slow here in Brainerd... perma-ice is a good term for this black, rock hard ice. Good exercise keeping balanced when going for a walk and in parking lots. I'm guessing it will be here through February at least..... slick!
We'll see what else happens this Sunny, cold weekend.... it will be fun whatever we decide to do.
Peace!
