More Cookies!

Waking up to again below zero temperatures, I knew I'd be baking today.... always fun. A short trip to the grocery store to get the now needed peanut butter chips, dog treats and a few other things and back to the kitchen. The first batch of these babies I made had butterscotch chips and were awesome, rich and healthy. Peanut butter chips have got to be even better. This is the original recipe from under the lid of Quaker Oats and I only gently modified it. A touch of molasses, almond extract and chips were added. These are about perfect. Peggy and I believe that a happy home needs cookies available at all times!

As I let the dogs outside early this morning, there was clicking and snapping noises coming from the grove of trees out back. I put on my hat and gloves to see what it was. A pair of dark gray squirrels with whitish bellies were chasing each other tree to tree like a couple monkeys. Very entertaining! Maybe they are frisky, hoping for Spring? Maybe they were into each others food stash.

A good day to catch up on a few things, relax and hope for a bit more snow... flurries are predicted for today and tomorrow, we'll see. Peggy and I are looking forward to another good snowmobile trail ride soon.

Life and Love are Blessed, cozy home, aroma of cookies, and a cup of good coffee...

Peace!
